We start the first full day of your Croatian Wine Cruise by going to beautiful ‘Blue Lagoon’ for your breakfast and morning swim, where you can swim and snorkel in the aqua water to awaken your senses.
When you sail Croatia, you absolutely have to visit the island of Vis, so we make our first port of call in the town of Komiža, where you can explore the quaint town before heading off to our first wine tour.
We have arranged for a wine tour at the famous Roki’s winery and konoba. Legendary for their ‘peka’ it’s a ‘must have’ on your Croatian sailing holiday, especially if you’re a meat-eater as the meal is slow cooked in the traditional grill oven and the meat just falls apart.
We start your day with a bang by heading to Bisevo Island, so you can experience the world famous ‘Blue Caves’ after breakfast. You’ll get the see first hand one of the highlights of any Croatian sailing holiday. Following your trip to the ‘Blue Caves’ we head to Stiniva Bay on the island of Vis. You’re in for an action packed morning!
We will call into the town on Vis and secure a place on the town quay, where you can wander the promenade and soak up the atmosphere of the bustling town before we’re picked up and taken to the winery of Konoba Magic for a wine tour, wine tasting and a completely organic meal, where everything on the menu has come from their farm/winery.
Tip: Ask for a sample of their homemade flavoured liqueurs, they’re just divine.
SV. NEDELJA (HVAR)
You are in for a real treat, as we’re going to the famous and multi-award winning Zlatan Otok winery on Sveta Nedjelja. The family farm was established in 1986 and only 3 years later received the patronage for the top quality wine in 1989.
Now the Zlatan Otok Company has more than one hundred awards, medals and recognitions, and over 20 champion awards, including Best Croatian winemakers and Mr. Zlatan Plenkovic was elected with the highest honour of ‘Croatian wine knight’.
The restaurant cooks with only the freshest seafood, which is caught daily and directly delivered to the restaurant daily. The restaurant has a sea pool with live lobsters that are chosen by the guest and made by the finest Dalmatian recipes.
The restaurant has a unique underwater wine cellar storing the archive wines, and used for wine tasting while overlooking the seabed.
Today your Croatian sailing holiday takes you to the fortified town of Korčula. This magnificent town has the ability to awaken your imagination as you wander the cobbled streets, or climb the turret-towers for a sunset cocktail.
We will be arranging for a tour of a local winery, followed by wine tasting and dinner on their estate. You'll be warmed by the friendly hospitality and delicious wines from their farm.
After your wine tour and meal, we'll be dropped back into the Old Town of Korčula where you can explore the streets and be enchanted by the local musicians playing songs you'll recgonise and some you won't. It's the perfect way to relax and to just sit back and absorb the atmosphere of the town.
Mornings in Korčula are not complete without visiting the local pekara (bakery) for fresh croissants and traditional pastries to accompany your morning coffee.
The first leg of the journey is to Polače, where you can hire a scooter to explore the national park of Mljet or hire a bicycle to cycle around the saltwater lake. You can stop for a swim along the way and visit the monastery, which inhabits a tiny islet in the middle of the lake. It’s not an everyday experience.
After our lunch stop, we will slowly make our way through the National Park and to a tiny, protected bay where we’ll stay on anchor for the evening* and we will prepare an onboard two-course meal, with matching wines, followed by local wines, cheeses and meats as we gaze upon the evening’s sky with no light pollution.
For many, the on board experience with great company, new friends, cheeses and wines as you stargaze is one of the memorable evenings of your Croatian sailing holiday.
*Weather permitting. If the weather doesn’t allow it, we will be securing the boat in a neighboring bay and dining in the local konoba.
After our freshly prepared on board breakfast and your morning swim, we set sail for Dubrovnik , via a beautifully protected bay for your lunch and final afternoon swim.
We arrive in the marina with time to freshen up and head into the Old Town of Dubrovnik, where you can choose to walk the walls of the town, kayak outside the town for a new perspective or just wander the streets before we enjoy the final evening of your sailing Croatian cruise.
We will take you to a secret bar, which is located on the outside of the securing walls, perched against the rocks for a sunset cocktail and the opportunity to reminisce the magical week and smorgasbord of local food and wines we've shared together.
Check out is at 8am.
^ We always encourage guests to stay an extra night (or more) in Dubrovnik and not to finish your voyage with us and fly home. Dubrovnik has too much to offer and a terrific selection of restaurants.
